How are these projects on the acts2action.org web page generated?

At least three Christian believers in a given geographical area, each persons of good reputation and filled with the Holy Spirit ( as in Acts 6:3) get together, to pray and to seek the advice of the Holy Spirit, on a doable project that would help meet the needs of that community. Then one of the leaders submits, online to acts2action.org, or by mail, the basic purpose and financial needs of their particular project, together with any photos or videos. Whenever possible we also obtain an audio recording from the project leader who can invite participation directly.

Is there any cost for them to apply?

No. Acts 2 Action depends on others to donate to cover costs. Acts 2 Action currently is in the process of applying to the IRS to become a tax exempt 501c3 charitable organization.

How are the projects selected?

The Acts 2 Action staff communicates with the leader of the project, and often can check with local Christian attorneys if there are questions about title to real estate, if the project involves the purchase of land, for example. Those projects which particularly address those most helpless, those forgotten, those needing food or clothing, those sick, those in prison, those most threatened by persecution, those described by Jesus Christ in Matthew, chapter 25, are given the highest consideration. Once selected, the project, using the latest in web communication technology, is placed on the website, and regular photo or video updates are posted by the web designer or his staff.

What are you attempting to achieve?

The goal is not just to provide funds to a particular worthy project but also, in these difficult times, to generate, across denominations, real fellowship and unity among believers, thereby reviving the joy of heartfelt giving, whatever the amount, as was experienced by the earliest Christians in Acts chapter 2.

How do I know that my donation will be put to proper use?

The Directors of Acts 2 Action have committed to being as transparent as possible in all financial dealings, and will post the organization's financial statement on the website regularly, as well as financial results for each project. A portion of a project's funds will be held in escrow until it's confirmed that the funds are being properly used. Acts 2 Action will not only meet IRS nonprofit standards but will adopt other exacting standards as set forth by the [Christian Council for Financial Accountability].

How can I volunteer or get more information?

We expect a growing need for staff volunteers to input the project information and to assist with other responsibilities as Acts 2 Action begins to function both in the United States and in other countries.  Please respond by email as provided on our website or by calling (707) 987-9082.   God bless you!
